Apleona and essentry join forces to provide the next generation of digital reception services.
Apleona and essentry have partnered together to expand digital and cloud-based reception services. As part of the strategic partnership, Apleona will include essentry’s visitor management platform as part of its wider portfolio of real estate and facility management offerings. Digitization in the real estate industry has accelerated recently and the current Covid-19 pandemic has made this initiative even more critical. However, digitization of reception services and, in particular, visitor management processes, is less noticeable. Yet, visitor management systems (VMS) are having a major impact in multiple areas – building security, health and safety, and digital brand perception. VMS also affects process efficiency and cost reductions with respect to reception area operations. With the right system, all of these factors can be streamlined and optimized, creating significant benefits.
Apleona constantly monitors the Internet-of-Things (IoT) and PropTech markets to identify potential solutions early on and to implement them to gain a competitive advantage in the real estate sector. As the market for VMS has a projected growth rate of 15%, Apleona became aware of essentry’s offerings. Specifically, essentry’s visitor management platform convinced Apleona’s Digital Solutions Team because essentry’s strengths combine all three value drivers of a VMS: security, efficiency, and visitor experience without any one of these attributes being compromised.
“The fully automated process for managing visitors allows us to offer our reception services in a more time-efficient and cost-efficient manner and on a completely new level, which helps us to differentiate and innovate,” Dr. Michael Lange, Chief Digital Officer, Apleona explained.
Dr. Dennis Lips, founder and CEO, essentry, concluded that “the strategic partnership with Apleona, as one of the leading real estate service providers in Europe, is a testament to the value our solution provides. This partnership will help us to achieve our ambitious growth goals and to accelerate the digitization of reception services in the market.”
essentry’s heritage comes from the data center industry and its experience securing critical infrastructure facilities has always put security as a top priority. essentry verifies physical identities by leveraging border control-grade ID scanners along with 3D cameras for facial matching – all through a fully automated, extremely accurate, self-service check-in process. The results deliver Apleona customers with a secure and safe workplace where only authorized people are allowed to move throughout the building with specific access permissions. In addition, there is always a clear view of who is on their campus at a given moment.
Dr. Michael Lange, Chief Digital Officer, Apleona stated: “We are pleased to welcome essentry as a partner of Apleona. With their innovative solution, which combines user-friendliness with high-security standards, essentry perfectly complements the security and reception services of Apleona. essentry is a further building block in our digital ecosystem, enabling us to provide each customer with an ideal solution package based on our modular approach combining our solutions and partner solutions.”
Driven by the crisis, essentry has reacted quickly and integrated an optional body temperature sensor and added health questions into the self-service registration process. These features can be used to screen visitors and employees in compliance with GDPR.
“With Covid-19, we see increased demand for visitor management systems in the market since enterprises are preparing for a new situation. Governments all over the world are issuing regulations that require greater visitor documentation and better tracing of potential chains of infection,” added Andreas Bandel, VP Sales, essentry.
The partnership between Apleona and essentry was formally signed in November 2020.
